2016 and 2017 Partner a Dancer

In 2016 and 2017, the Ballet Foundation sponsored Harry Skinner through the RNZB’s Partner a Dancer programme.
The Ballet Foundation continues to support the RNZB through the Partner a Dancer programme.
Born in Invercargill, Harry Skinner trained under Paula Hunt in Wellington and at the Australian Ballet School. He performed in the Australian Ballet’s productions of Don Quixote and Destiny.
Harry joined the RNZB in 2008 and his early roles included Peter’s Shadow in Peter Pan (2009) and Fritz in The Nutcracker (2010). 2011 saw him feature in Verdi Variations and The Sleeping Beauty.
Favourite roles in 2012 included 28 Variations on a Theme by Paganini and Balanchine’s Who Cares? Recent roles include Mr Fezziwig in A Christmas Carol (2014), Lorenzo and Sailor in Don Quixote, Johan Kobborg’s Salute, Soldier’s Mass, and Bottom in the world premiere of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in August 2015. Harry left the RNZB at the end of 2017 to pursue full time university study.
