Ballet Foundation supports Mt Eden Ballet Academy Ballet Awards

The Ballet Foundation was pleased to support the Senior Ballet Award of the Mt Eden Ballet Academy (MEBA) Awards Week held in September.

In a year that has seen many national and Australian competitions cancelled due to Covid-19, the Academy wanted to offer students a stage to keep them striving towards their goals of becoming professional dancers.

Over 500 dancers aged between 5 and 20 years entered the competition. Turid Revfeim, Classical Tutor from the New Zealand School of Dance and Nadia Yanowsky, Principal Dancer with the Royal New Zealand Ballet and the 2020 Harry Haythorne Choreographic Award winner, judged the ballet section which was of an exceptionally high standard.

Thank to a donation from an anonymous donor, the Ballet Foundation was able to contribute a $4,000 Award prize to the competition.

Finalists in the Senior Classical Ballet section of the 2020 MEBA Ballet Awards.
